Read the RoadmapDocsHub Capybara planning status
Status: planning only. Capybara is not implemented in this repository and has no public release. The current DocsHub architecture is Wombat.
Purpose
Capybara is the planned first DocsHub generation that can accept public documentation submissions. Wombat prepares the static build, content structure, validation, search, and deployment pipelines that this workflow will require.
Capybara’s defining change is public participation in publishing, not public read access: the current Wombat site is already publicly readable.
Planned submission workflow
The intended workflow is:
- an author prepares documentation in SnapDock;
- SnapDock submits the content through a publishing feature;
- DocsHub authenticates the author and checks project permissions;
- the submission passes validation and review; and
- approved content enters the DocsHub publishing pipeline.
This workflow is a direction, not a finalized interface or compatibility commitment.
Not implemented
The current repository does not provide:
- user accounts or authentication;
- public document submission;
- a SnapDock publishing connection;
- review queues or publishing permissions;
- browser-based editing or collaboration;
- hosted customer documentation portals;
- billing or subscriptions; or
- Docker packaging and general self-hosting guidance.
These capabilities must not be described as available until their code, security boundaries, and user documentation exist.
Development record
No Capybara implementation milestone is recorded in this repository yet. This page should be updated only when a verified design decision or implementation change occurs.
